PerliShade Terms of Use

These terms apply to the PerliShade app for Android, published by Perlicom Systems Limited, a company registered in Ireland under company number 546999 ("we", "us"). By installing or using PerliShade you agree to them. How we handle data is explained in the PerliShade Privacy Policy.
1. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use PerliShade on Android devices you own or control, for your own personal or business use, in line with these terms and the Google Play Terms of Service. You may not copy, sell, rent or redistribute the app, or reverse engineer, decompile or modify it, except to the extent the law allows this regardless of these terms. We and our licensors keep all rights in the app that are not expressly granted to you.
2. What the app does
PerliShade draws a coloured, partly transparent layer over the screen and can turn that layer on and off to a schedule. It changes how the screen looks; it does not change the device's own display settings, and it does not read or alter anything shown underneath it. Your presets and schedule stay on your device.
3. Free version and ads
The free version of PerliShade is supported by advertising provided by Google AdMob: a banner at the foot of the Settings screen and, occasionally, a full-screen ad at a natural break, as described in the Privacy Policy. No ad is placed over the filter or over the break overlay. Some features may be limited in the free version, as shown in the app. Buying PerliShade Pro removes all advertising.
4. PerliShade Pro
- PerliShade Pro is a one-off in-app purchase, not a subscription. It removes the ad and unlocks the Pro features described in the app and on the Google Play listing at the time of purchase.
- The purchase is made and processed by Google Play and is linked to the Google account used to buy it. You can restore it on other Android devices signed in to the same Google account.
- Refunds are handled by Google Play under Google Play's refund policy (see Google Play refunds). If you have a problem with a purchase, you can also e-mail support@perlicom.com and we will help.
- Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
5. Updates and availability
We may update the app to fix problems, add or change features, or meet legal and store requirements. We do not promise that every feature will remain available forever, but we will not remove the core benefit of Pro (no ad, saved presets) from people who have bought it for as long as we continue to offer the app.
6. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
PerliShade is a comfort and preference tool. It is not a medical device and makes no medical claim. It does not diagnose, treat, prevent or reduce any condition, and nothing in the app or on this site should be read as health advice. If you have a problem with your eyes, your sleep or your vision, speak to a qualified professional.
A screen filter tints everything on the display, so colours will not be accurate while it is on. Do not rely on a tinted screen for work where colour matters, and turn the filter off before anything safety-related that depends on seeing the screen exactly as it is.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PerliShade is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind beyond those the law requires. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, business or opportunity arising from use of the app. Our total liability to you in connection with the app is limited to the amount you paid for PerliShade Pro, or €10 if you have not bought it.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you, including your rights as a consumer under Irish and EU law.
7. Ending these terms
You can stop using PerliShade at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your licence if you break these terms. Sections 6 and 8 continue to apply after the licence ends.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the EU or in the UK, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and may bring proceedings there.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the app changes. The effective date above shows the current version. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or on the Google Play listing.
